Jasper Wildcats watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 7-4 loss to South Spencer on Tuesday. South Spencer scored on a single by Cassidy Cook, a single by Luci Duncan, and a single by Averi Myers in the second inning.
South Spencer fired up the offense in the second inning. Cook drove in one when she singled.
South Spencer scored three runs in the fourth inning. AJ Middleton and Karlee Frobeter each drove in runs during the inning.
Frobeter earned the victory in the circle for South Spencer. She surrendered two runs on four hits over three innings, striking out four. Myers threw four innings in relief out of the bullpen. Myers recorded the last 12 outs to earn the save for South Spencer.
Mia Werner started the game for Jasper Wildcats . She lasted seven innings, allowing 15 hits and seven runs while striking out six and walking one.
Jasper Wildcats tallied six hits on the day. Rachel Gress and Werner each collected multiple hits for Jasper Wildcats . Werner and Gress all had two hits to lead Jasper Wildcats .
South Spencer collected 15 hits. Myers, Cook, Jordam Daming, Frobeter, and Ashton Rasor each racked up multiple hits for South Spencer. Myers led South Spencer with three hits in four at bats.
